# I want to get better

You already build. Pick one move you want to master better, and work it with feedback.

**Three cards for deepening your practice:**

1. [Your best teacher does not work here](/book/chapters/02-05-your-best-teacher-does-not-work-here.html). Put your work next to the best example you know of the same problem.
2. [A good decision can still lose](/book/chapters/06-05-a-good-decision-can-still-lose.html). Separate what you knew when you decided from what the result taught you.
3. [A review that only says yes teaches nothing](/book/chapters/09-04-a-review-that-only-says-yes-teaches-nothing.html). Ask your reviewer what they checked and why.

**Your next attempt.** Choose one move. Make three short attempts this week, with feedback between each: from a peer, from an AI against a criterion, from the person who uses the result.

**What you look at next.** Compare the first attempt and the last. Write down what changed, and publish what could help others doing the same work.

**A full case.** [Improving without starting over](/improving-without-starting-over/) starts from a solid practice and shows a decision, a measured before and after, and a handover.

Keep a card for later and come back to the [four paths](/paths/) when your need changes. To see where you stand, the [builder test](/builder-test/) gives you a level and a line of work.
